Saadiya Ahmad is a seasoned legal professional and academic leader with over 20 years of expertise in criminal litigation. As Associate Dean of Careers & Enterprise at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London (UEL), she oversees strategic career development initiatives that prepare students for impactful careers in law and criminology. Additionally, Saadiya serves as the Director of UEL’s Legal Advice Centre, providing invaluable community service and hands-on experience for aspiring solicitors.
With a career rooted in human rights and criminal law, Saadiya began her legal journey at Christian Fisher Solicitors, a prominent human rights law firm, and later co-founded a boutique criminal law practice. Her practical expertise as a senior solicitor and consultant enriches her teaching, where she leads modules in Mental Wealth – Professional Studies and Criminal Litigation, bridging academic learning with real-world application.
Beyond her academic and professional responsibilities, Saadiya has held governance roles on various boards, including South Thames College, St. George’s Hospital Charity, and the Citizens Advice Bureau. She currently contributes her insights as a trustee for Revolving Doors, a criminal justice charity.
