The History

Founded at the seat of knowledge with a 700+ years' heritage of imparting education, Oxford Business College emphasises polishing intellectual and human potential. At its inception in the latter half of the last century, the College offered A-Level courses to students who wanted to improve their school examination performance to attend a good university. From that humble beginning, it evolved into a College that has won tremendous accolades as one of the most desirable undergraduate study destinations in the Independent Higher Education sector.

“It’s not where you come from,

It’s where you choose to go…”

Committed to helping people shape their futures, Oxford Business College has become the fastest-growing Private Higher Education College in the UK. Known for high academic standards and highly qualified staff, the College has 6000+ students from diverse backgrounds, orientations, and  cultures. Thousands of its alumni have become successful professionals and entrepreneurs in different parts of the world. In a short span of time, the college has expanded from one campus in Oxford to four cities, numerous campuses and partnerships with multiple UK universities including the University of West London and Buckinghamshire New University. Such partnerships provide the students with unrivalled choices and flexibility alongside professional vigour and rigorous teaching in Oxford, London, Slough and Nottingham.

The College provides a wide range of job-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business and management. In addition, OBC’s International Foundation is one of the longest-running programmes in Oxford recognised and accepted by over 25 UK universities including a few elite Russell Group members.

It has also been acknowledged as an epitome of innovation, setting enviably high standards of excellence, which is evident with the honours and recognitions. The college got consistent nominations among the top 10 in the ‘WhatUni Awards’ in the ‘Best Independent Higher Education Provider’ category in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 and won the award in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, we became the first independent business school in the UK having membership of Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS).

A pioneer of widening participation, Oxford Business College believes in giving back to society. The College keeps students’ employability at the top and endeavours to make them smart enough to enter the fast-paced digital era of the corporate world or the future business leaders with ethical business practices.

The independent Board of Governors (BoG) and an experienced Senior Management Team (SMT) provide the leadership to the College.

The BoG plays a vital role in the strategic development and performance of the College. The Board also enables the College to operate effectively and oversees progress against the strategic goals and the accountability of the executive group. Our BoG comprises highly respected and experienced members of academia and business.

Whilst the BoG takes on a monitoring and oversight role, it delegates the executive powers to the Senior Management Team (SMT) of the College. This team is responsible for designing, developing and implementing the strategy. The driver for the strategic growth of the College, the SMT is responsible for efficiently running the College within the legal framework and ensuring it meets students’ needs.
