OXFORD BUSINESS COLLEGE STATEMENT FOLLOWING RECENT MEDIA COMMENTS

Oxford Business College strongly refutes recent media comments that appeared in a grossly misleading article with several photographs that conveyed an inaccurate impression of the college and the achievements of our students.

The mission of OBC is to transform lives by providing students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed in the business world. We are committed to social mobility and provide a model of higher education accessible to all and delivered in a supportive learning environment.

The majority of students studying at OBC come from typically under-represented student groups, such as mature learners. The outcomes for our students are good; their progression and success rates exceed the benchmark threshold standards set by the Office for Students and compare favorably to the outcomes from other private providers across the sector. We work closely with partners, to ensure that student records are accurate and Oxford Business College works to uphold the academic quality and standards of our partner’s programs, which are regularly and systematically reviewed and audited.

Oxford Business College, aims to provide information, advice, and guidance about all of the programs of study which we offer and follows strict admission procedures, set by our partners to ensure that enrolment decisions are made in a fair and transparent manner. We continuously review how we can improve the student experience, one such example is our delivery format that works for our students (2 full days a week, as well as self-directed learning outside that time) and providing additional wrap-around support. 

As part of our commitment to improving social mobility, we have expanded into a number of new locations over the past 3 years to meet local demand of students in under-served communities. We are committed to developing a sustainable college that is both academically and commercially successful, which includes providing our students with a safe learning environment and an organisational culture that promotes diversity, inclusivity, personal development, and respect. 

Oxford Business College, as a responsible provider of higher education, has effectively managed its finances to ensure financial sustainability, in an increasingly challenging education environment. This includes capital investment in high quality facilities and projects that benefit the student experience, along with attracting and retaining skilled and highly qualified staff. Our scholarship programme, free English courses for Ukrainian students and philanthropic activities in the community help to underpin our commitment to the local communities we serve. We are transparent about the compensation of our directors and shareholders filed in the returns to Companies House. 

We’re proud to offer our students access to information, advice, and guidance about all our programs of study. Further, we assist students in understanding the financial options available to support their studies. Students in the UK have the option of maintenance and tuition fee loans, which can provide the necessary support throughout their educational journey. Student loans in England are a financial product managed via the Student Loans Company (SLC), between the student and SLC.
