When attending campus, make sure to bring your student ID card, along with essential study materials such as notebooks, a laptop or tablet, chargers, pens, and any course-specific items. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for a classroom setting, with additional rules for professional programmes and safety in practical classes, reusable water bottles, and a bag to carry everything are also useful. Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and show respect for your learning environment, as well as your fellow students and staff.
Effective time management is key to balancing your academic responsibilities and personal life. Start by creating a weekly schedule that includes all your classes, study sessions, exams and assignment submission deadlines, and any other commitments. Remember to allocate some time for independent study and self-study, research activities, and visiting attractions (if applicable to your programme of study). Prioritise tasks based on deadlines and importance and break larger projects into manageable steps. Regularly review and adjust your plan to stay on track and maintain a healthy balance between academic and personal activities.
A variety of resources are available to support your academic journey. These include access to the library, the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), online databases. Academic support services and Personal Academic Tutoring (PAT) are available to provide guidance throughout your studies. Study groups and workshops are available to further enhance your learning. Many of these resources, including PAT sessions, are offered both online and on campus, providing flexibility to suit your needs. Make sure to take full advantage of these resources to maximise your academic success.
Connect with classmates, join the Student Council, and attend social events. Take advantage of the student support services, and don’t hesitate to reach out to academic support or counsellors for guidance. Engage with class representatives by providing honest, constructive feedback and suggestions to help improve the learning experience.
Reach out to your personal academic tutor or lecturers for guidance, make use of Personal Academic Tutoring (PAT) services, and consider joining study groups for additional support. Actively engage in using English in the classroom with both classmates and lecturers to enhance your communication skills and build greater confidence.
Join the online Live Chat with our Chief Academic Officer (CAO), Guest speaker events, Student Council, participate in campus events, volunteer for community service, or attend workshops and seminars to meet new people and enhance your skills.
Set clear boundaries between study time and personal time, prioritise tasks, practise self-care, and make time for hobbies and social activities to reduce stress.
Visit the relevant department offices during office hours, check the FAQs for contact information, attend student orientation events to meet staff and learn about the available services, and meet with the Student Support Officer (SSO), who will be happy to provide assistance and support. Assessment results are usually published by our HEI Partner Universities and Colleges according to their policies and procedures, and exact dates can be confirmed by checking with your Programme Leader.
Assessments are usually graded based on marking criteria outlined in the Programme Handbook, Assignment Brief, or Programme Guide including assignments, exams, and projects, using a specific grading scale or rubric of relevant HEI Partner University or College.

OBC’s Careers Service provides comprehensive support for both current students and alumni, covering every stage of the recruitment journey. Our programmes do not include internships or placements as part of the curriculum. However, through our dedicated Career Centre – OxCareer Platform, students have access to a wide range of job search resources. This platform enables students to explore and apply for various opportunities, including graduate schemes, internships, placements, and graduate roles, tailored to their field of interest, skill set, qualifications, and preferred location.
The college supports your job search by offering career counselling, job search resources, networking events, skill-building workshops, and access to job listings through our Career Centre – OxCareer Platform. No, we currently do not offer a master’s degree programme, but we will keep you updated on any partnership collaborations and if we decide to run one in the future. However, our admissions department can check with our partners and provide relevant support.

HEI Partner Universities and Colleges have policies and procedures in place for maternity leave. Please contact your Programme Coordinator, Programme Leader, or Student Support Officer for information on the specific process.
The procedure for maternity leave varies between our HEI Partner Universities and Colleges. You will have the option to interrupt your studies, continue without interruption, or, in some cases, a mandatory suspension may be recommended based on a risk assessment and the specific policy and procedure of our HEI Partner University or College. Please consult your Programme Leader, Programme Coordinator, or Student Support Officer for further details.
Before making a formal complaint, please contact the Student Support Officer, Programme Leader, Campus Dean, or your Tutor to attempt to resolve the issue. You can also confidentially reach out to our Student Support Team (see contact details in the contact section) or visit us on campus for a private one-to-one discussion. Your concerns will be treated with the utmost care and confidentiality. If the matter remains unresolved, you can follow the OBC complaints policy and procedure, which is outlined in the Student Handbook or available on the OBC website
Yes, you may request to change your study days by submitting a formal request to the Registry Officer. Please ensure you are aware of any deadlines or specific procedures involved. Your request must be accompanied by a supporting statement that clearly explains the valid reason for the proposed change.
Yes, transferring to another campus may be possible if the same programme, level and cohort are offered at that campus. Please contact the Registry Officer for more information on the steps and requirements for making the transfer as these may vary depending on the specific requirements of our HEI Partner University or College. Proof of address may be required to ensure reasonable proximity to the campus, depending on our HEI Partner University /College policy.
